Honoring Ed Shipman

Friday, September 1, 2023 — The Ed Shipman Memorial Highway was officially unveiled — and both Granbury and Glen Rose proclaimed the day to be Ed Shipman Tribute Day. 300 special guests, friends and donors, local and state representatives, alumni, and teachers, staff, and students joined together to remember Ed Shipman and honor his legacy of the last 45 years of changing kids’ lives.

Speaking to the crowd, Lucas Shipman shared, “I am honored and dedicated to continuing the mission of helping high potential children from low opportunity situations — along with the rest of my family and friends like YOU!”

Such kind words were shared by so many, including Brad Sham of the Dallas Cowboys, Senator Brian Birdwell, Nannette Samuelson (Hood County Commissioner), Michael Flusche (North Texas Director for Senator Ted Cruz), and many others.
